“MSMEs are the backbone of the Iraqi economy,” Dr. Mansour said. “They account for more than 90% of all enterprises in Iraq and provide employment for more than 50% of the workforce.”

Dr. Mansour said that the new policy will focus on providing MSMEs with access to finance, training, and markets. He said that the government will also work to improve the business environment for MSMEs.

“We believe that this policy will help MSMEs to grow and create jobs,” Dr. Mansour said. “This will contribute to Iraq’s economic development and poverty reduction.” Sources and related content
